Paracord survival bracelets are all the rage these days. Most of them are strictly for fashion but there are ways to make them more utilitarian.
The survivalist wanted to wear his compass upon his wrist but found that the magnetic field from his watch interfered with the accuracy of his compass. By attaching his wrist compass to a paracord bracelet, he can now wear the watch on one wrist, and the compass on his other without sacrificing the functional accuracy of the compass.
The weave he uses is a “cobra weave”. For details on how to stitch that particular weave, you will need to do a bit of research. He clearly shows how he stopped a portion of weaving upon the band to make a place for the attachment of the compass.
This particular compass he is using from CountyComm has a perfect configuration for snapping onto the paracord bracelet. It takes a try or two to attach the built in compass clip, but once it is done, it is quite secure. There are other practical uses for paracord survival bracelets. Be sure to check out our other videos for ideas in that regard.
So there you have it, compass attachment to a survival bracelet. And of course, the length of paracord used to weave the bracelet can also come in very handy in an emergency situation.
